Description

You're stranded at cathedral-like train station in the near future, searching for a ticket out of town. Explore the secret passageways, interact with strangers, dig for records, and get hypnotized by the soundtrack – a new batch of never-before-heard Archie Pelago tunes.

A Mysterious Setting, Plus Ramen

In Off-Peak, players will uncover a world where the fate of it's musicians and artists is unclear, yet their tools of the trade are highly prized. Meanwhile, the station itself provides all the comforts a commuter could ask for: great food, the best beer, entertaining board games, relaxing gardens. But *who* is really benefiting here? It is entirely up to the player how they want to engage in and interpret Off-Peak's stories, characters and themes.

Gameplay

Off-Peak is a short first-person adventure game and takes place in one giant area with multiple nooks, crannies and some hidden passageways to discover. Within its own bounds, the game can be explored at any pace or direction the player so chooses.

Off-Peak is Freeware.

The game triggers exactly the autistic deep feelings of my ADHD autism, which are simply awesome, waves, colors, tastes, I just love it, the sounds, the optics, that's just awesome, that's how you can imagine the autistic world of thoughts

huge "I am going to berlin to become an artist" vibe.

i cannot explain this.

I ate all the pizza. However, I'm sure there's even more for me to discover in here. Can't wait to play this over and over, I don't think I will ever get tired of it.

Very Strange And Awesome Game

If im not mistaken, I'm pretty sure this game is based off a dream the creator had

One of the funniest and strangest games I ever played thank you for the fun times and that beautiful background song!

We had a great time trippin out through the station, loved the weird abstract art feel of this game and am honestly surprised I didn't learn about it sooner. Really glad we ended up checking this out (:

reminds me alot of Jazzpunk, which I remember very clearly. Both amazing games, very very interesting and intriguing. Relaxing, very.

😊👍

Majestic artwork and posters. This game feels very inspired by real life

I played this game nearly two years ago, after playing Norwood Suite first. Afterwards, I played Tales From Off-Peak City Volume 1. No game has ever made me feel the way these games have, the atmosphere and sound design is so amazing. I come back so often to play these, to soak up the environments, because it is so calming to me. I wish I could experience the maps in virtual reality. Thank you for making these games, they've really helped me.

cheers!  glad to hear that.  More to come...

You should be so proud, these are genuinely masterpieces. I'm looking forward to Betrayal at Club Low!

you had me immediately at the choice of albums i saw

I spent the game being a Kleptomaniac and absolutely loved it. There were so many weird moments to see, and it was strange seeing a functioning train station be alive in such an abstract environment.

When I get the chance I will definitely play the rest of your games.

Played this after Norwood Suite, and found myself just wanting to hang out at times, watch the conversation flow and enjoy the tunes. Wishing this place was real.

what is system req

What an interesting and entertaining little journey that was.

It is easy to get lost in the game like you are living in a dream. It is like you walk around the real world, but without real interactions.

Really trippy, really surreal, all over the place, weird and so much more but I loved it all!

I wish more games were like this.

Strange in the absolute best way!
I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the sheer volume of things to look at - there wasn't a moment of playing where I was bored! 😁

Found out about this from purchasing the Winter Bundle and the later game is in it, so I started at the beginning. Gonna be playing the rest for sure fun game :)

What a beautiful experience with incredible music. By coincidence the new haven line is the one I would take to get home from grand central, which added a special dimension to the game. It was a little like seeing grand central for the first time as a child all over again. Looking forward to playing The Norwood Suite next!

Cheers - glad to hear you caught the reference in real life!

You have a die-hard fan in me!

Cheers!

This game.. was amazing.

I have no real words describing my experience, except that I loved it!
It felt like a massive trip through a futuristic train station, every corner had something more bizarre waiting for you.

I've got so many questions after playing this, but feel so fulfilled at the same time.
Definitely looking forward to more of your games!

I also made a video on my experience playing the game, although I had to use the older version (as I don't own a mac). Hope I didn't miss out on too much!

I played it, bit it was weird as fuck man.

Now i understand why the reviews said it reminded them of Bioshock, the whole experience was amazing and different to what I have played on here. i loved the music and the srt stle that was plastered all around the game was amazing, i would love the hang a lot of the art on my walls if i could

Interactive audiovisual catharsis.

Simply excellent.

Right on -- thanks for playing!

The world created feels amazing and is a pure joy to explore. I would love to see something like this released for Oculus Quest

I really love how surreal yet relaxing this game is! I was quite impressed and intrigued by the music, sound design, dialogue, and level design. Also, I love train stations and exploration games, so it really hit the spot! Thank-you kindly for making such a unique game (and for making it available for free)! I recorded a video of me playing, too:

Right on + thanks for playing!  Glad you enjoyed it.

Really keen to try this out, but is it possible to invert the mouse up/down? Hard to unlearn a lifetime of inverted controls.

Inverted mouse should be available.  If not here, it's definitely available in the Steam version.

this was like being in a thought provoking surreal art gallery inside of a somewhat dystopian oppressive undertones. i will be diving into this to see more of what i get out of it. thank you for this experience!
